I’m married to Jamison, mother to four, and grandmother to three. I’m a 27-year Obstetrical RN who enjoys running, backpacking, yoga, cycling, classic rock concerts, travel and cruises. We have four cool Savannah cats that keep us on our toes.
I have a goal to run a key race in all 50 states (16 done) as well as section-hiking all 2,189 miles of the Appalachian Trail. I started running in my 30's to combat an auto-immune disease without medication to control the chronic pain. Little did I know, it would become a passion. I met my first goal of running a full marathon at age 40 and my second goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon at age 45, which I ran in 2013 and 2014. I’ve ran over 100 races of varying distances, and have no plans of slowing down anytime soon!
I’m a health nut, chocoholic, free-thinking, coffee-loving, goal seeker who can’t take "no" for an answer. I refuse the average, simple life and live each day to learn and explore this huge, magnificent world. I want badass stories to share with my grandchildren, not the old "how hard I had it” mumbo jumbo.
I have a multi niche life, so why should I have a single niche blog? I write about anything that inspires me. Running and hiking, life lessons, health and fitness, personal experiences, family and childhood memories, and our Savannah cats are my inspiration. Our first Savannah cat, Luna, is a wonder cat who beat lethal FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), by way of a clinical drug research trial through the University of California, Davis. She is doing miraculously well. This new drug has cured her and gives hope to the future of all felines stricken with FIP!
